Verbal Habits of Deceptive People - Watch and Listen for Clusters. The more you encourage someone to talk, the better chance there is of identifying a cluster of verbal cues - particularly if the interviewer has managed to build rapport. Use the clusters of verbal cues against the subject's non verbal behaviour is an extremely effective formula in detecting deception. It is very important to learn to ask the right questions, actively listen and watch closely - it's a lot to take in, which is why some interviewers choose to work in pairs.
